Kway tiao siram is similar to the hor fun in Singapore. While in Indonesia, I often eat this at Tze char stall or coffee shops stalls. A must for me is to eat with cut chili padi 😅
Tried recreating this at home but I added too much soy sauce 🤪 so it’s a little too salty! Well. There’s always first try hahah. Will be more careful the next time 🤣
But here’s the general steps~
1. Cook anchovies stock. Strain and set aside
2. In a wok/pan, fry minced garlic till fragrance. Add Kway tiao (I used mix of yellow noodle and Kway tiao). Fry 2-3 minutes and add eggs. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes. Dish out on plate and set aside
3. In the wok/ big pot, fry some minced garlic. Add fish cake and fry a minute or two. Add in anchovies soup. Let it boil.
4. Once’s boiled, add in sliced meat (mix with a little corn flour) and prawn (peeled and de-veined) . Let it cook for 3-5minutes and add in vegetables and cook for a minute. (We often use long stem chye sim)
5. Turn of the heat. Add in whisked egg while stirring. (I missed out this step! 😭)
6. Pour (in Indonesian: Siram) over the fried Kway tiao /noodle.
7. Serve with cut chili padi 🤤
