Making this to share with our neighbor as kids were going over for a play date 😊 so we opted for another healthier fillings this time with apple cinnamon.
I usually cooked the apple cinnamon on stove with dairy-free butter and brown sugar, etc but this time I came across a recipe to cook the apple cinnamon in the microwave oven! 😅 so much easier and just have one bowl to wash afterwards 😜
This shall makes a quick fillings for our bread buns these days.
Quick Apple Cinnamon Fillings
Ingredients:
Brown sugar 15-20g
Cored and Diced apples (I used 2 big Fuji apples)
Cinnamon powder 1-2tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice 15-20g (from half a lemon)
Steps:
1. In a microwaveable bowl, combine diced apples with all ingredients
2. Wrap the bowl with cling wrap and poke many holes with fork/ skewer.
3. Microwave for 2 minutes. (Or more till apple is soften)
4. Drain the juice away and use the apple for bread fillings (draining all the juices will make wrapping a breeze, but I would leave some juice next time so that the fillings won’t be too dry)
