The US has stood by Japan even as regional governments and environmental activists raised concerns over the decision to dump radioactive waste water into the Ocean
This whole thing is so wrong…
Let’s assume the water is really safe by their claim. Jap gov has thousand ways of getting rid of these water, for example:
Way 1: bottle them and sell to the locals. One hand they can easily get rid of the water, on the other hand they could make a good economic gains
Way 2: Use them to water the plants in major cities of Jap. Anyway they are to dump the water away, as we all know Japan isn’t a country with lots of resources, as Gov of Japan could easily get all these water and use them on their city developments, another economic gains.
Way 3: Sell these water to Utility Co,. of Japan and dispense them into households.
All these ideas are so much more economical (profitable) than dumping them into ocean.
So, Why don’t do that ???
In my opinions, the whole thing are just nonsense! For people who has been fooled by many online articles about the radioactive water is Safe. Tell you what, they NEVER MENTION AT ALL about strontium, rhodium, iodine and ruthenium remaining in the radioactive water. All these are the radioactive substances that could not be filter by the current system ALPS (Advanced Liquid Processing System). Here is a quote: “A study by the Kahoko Shinpo newspaper confirmed that levels of iodine-129 and ruthenium-106 exceeded acceptable levels in 45 out of 84 samples collected in 2017. Iodine-129 has a half-life of 15.7 million years and can cause cancer of the thyroid, while ruthenium-106 is produced by nuclear fission and high doses can be toxic or carcinogenic when ingested. “
What’s wrong with the world, it is so toxic now. Nonsense happen everyday.
US has make himself an Xhole now by bringing up this competition concept instead of cooperation. Downplaying the humanity health issues just to support its ally to achieve its own goal.
