Recently got a few plugin updates which I set to automatically update. Then this morning when I try access the website to check if Mrs. N has any more new posts coming up. To my surprise the “Likes” button by jetpack stay “Loading” no matter how I refresh the page. I tries some remedies, but it all does work. The simple remedy including clear cache/cookie, disable minified functions.
After all these remedies did not work out, the only thing comes to my mine is “plugin conflicts”
The “like” button is functioned by Jetpack. There is no recent updates from jetpack. Thus, this problem must be caused by something else. Therefore, I search on the activity logs. Yes, “activity logs” This is one of the functions I like a lot by jetpack. I can check what’s going on on the behind the scenes of the website.
After checking trough the logs, I realized the most recent updated plugin is EWWW Image Optimizer
So, at this point the solution to this issue is pretty simple. Deactivate the plugin, and reload the website. AND YES! It work like a charm. However, the sad thing is I could not help Mrs. N optimize images anymore, since this plugin is down from now onwards.
If anyone of you have a better plugin to commend to us, please don’t hesitate to put your comments in the comment area. Meanwhile, hope the plugin update again and solve the issues.
Wish this could help to others who is manning their own blogs.
The moral of the story……… NEVER EVER PUT YOUR PLUGIN ON AUTO UPDATE…… yes, I’ll never do that again… Only when you are pretty sure the new updates does not conflict with others then update it. Simple check on the forums and see what others say. I’m sure many would face the same problem.
